Hi! Before making a decision, I have looked through the history and have noticed only a couple of small issues in November and mid October. They however have nothing to do with uploading a copyrighted image. So I am afraid I do not understand what you are referring to and to me it seems the protection is not justified. I'm concerned that many of the articles on lifeboat stations don't meet GNG. After looking at a random sampling of them, most of them cite the Lifeboat Enthusiasts Society (of which Martin states they are a member of on their talk page), which appears to be an WP:SPS, and The Lifeboat, a publication of the RNLI, which is not an independent source. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:15, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
@Voorts I would have thought the same thing when I first encountered these articles, but there are several independent published sources on these lifesaving stations. Whenever I've done a BEFORE search on one, I always find GNG-qualifying sourcing. This came up in an AfD for one of Ojsyork's creations last year (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bamburgh Castle Lifeboat Station), which resulted in a "keep". I use ChatGPT from time to time to translate sentences or correct English syntax, as English is not my mother tongue. I also used an LLM to translate French Wikicode into English Wikicode; it’s much faster than doing it manually.
Have you had the opportunity to check some of my edits? They are far from perfect, but I really try to follow Wikipedia standards (Verifiability, No Original Research, Follow Style Guidelines, etc.). I’m genuinely puzzled—I don’t understand why they are not considered valuable enough to regain my extended confirmed rights. I’ve been a Wikipedia member since 2006, with more than 900 edits in English and over 1,500 edits in total.

I properly attributed the translation by adding the template to the main page. However, a bot moved it to the talk page. I even explained this in a discussion topic on the talk page. Firstly, I am not sure why you are using the plural for me. I am the only one making all the edits, and my pronoun is 'he'.
Secondly, I have attributed the text to a French translation in several edit summaries, for example, here and here. I may have forgotten some instances. However, if I am not mistaken, there is no rule stating that an editor must make no mistakes when editing to regain Extended Confirmed Rights. Furthermore, the quality of the translation is sufficient, as other editors appreciated it and upgraded the article from Start-Class to B-Class.
In addition, using an LLM for translation, syntax correction, or any other purpose is not forbidden.

Using third-person gender-neutral pronouns is pretty common and normal online. I have a question for you Michael out of interest. If you acquire the EC privilege, will you use it to advocate on behalf of any of the parties to the Arab-Israeli conflict, thus violating WP:NOTADVOCATE and the part of the Wikimedia Universal Code of Conduct that prohibits "Systematically manipulating content to favour specific interpretations of facts or points of view"? The reason I ask is that using extended confirmed privileges that way is puzzlingly common in the WP:PIA topic area, and I wondered whether you have considered these constraints. I also believe that the beauty of Wikipedia lies in collectively building reliable content, based on discussions grounded in valid sources, despite everyone's individual biases. Is there something preventing you from simply stating that you will not (consciously anyway) advocate on behalf of any of the parties to the Arab-Israeli conflict? Is it an unrealistic expectation given the nature of the topic area? That is what I would have done by the way, provided assurance that I'm not a potential disruption vector in a contentious topic area. And then try to make a case for restoration of EC rights on that basis. Of course, if you did that, you would probably the first editor in Wikipedia's history to do so. Feel free to ignore my questions by the way. I'm just interested in things that might help to depolarize the topic area, like explicit commitments to not advocate on behalf of parties to the conflict (although I'm aware that the adversarial nature of the topic area might, under certain circumstances, help to increase the quality of content). Like any contributor on Wikipedia, I respect the platform's core principles, rules, and best practices to the best of my knowledge. Specifically, I strive to avoid advocating for any side and ensure that both my contributions and those of others align with the principle of neutrality of point of view (NPOV).
Since you raise the topic, I believe the best way to depolarize a contentious area is to acknowledge that every party involved inherently has its own biases.

 Not done - This request has been unanswered for nearly a month. I think that is because you have asked three admins (Star Mississippi here, and Drmies and ScottishFinnishRadish at your talk page) to justify concerns which they have already described clearly and repeatedly. That is placing an onus on them to prove you untrustworthy. This is not how permissions requests work. Two significant concerns have been raised already: (1.) you have added translated content from other Wikipedias without attribution and (2.) you have artificially split your article contributions into separate edits to more quickly reach a high edit count, e.g. 127 edits to Water metering. I have to say that at water metering alone, while your changes were significant, they don't justify that number of edits. That together with the timing of your request makes it reasonably likely that you made those 127 edits to attain the target set for you (to make a "few hundred" more edits) when the permission was removed. As far as my AFD stats, I had a user rename recently, but I have a snapshot of my old stats at User:AndreJustAndre/Deletion which you can cross-reference with the stats under my present name. As I often create the disambig first, in order to justify a page moving away from ptopic; this often leaves me with having to swap the disambig page with the redirect and visa versa afterwards, when I simply need to perform a swap. Over time, I have made numerous move proposals on talk pages. Sometimes I don't get a reply from other editors and I bring it to WP:RM/TR. Other times, an administrator notices the proposal and implements it. Some of these could probably have been undiscussed bold moves and not required discussion at all. All of them are impossible without the page mover permission because they would overwrite a redirect. I'd rather save y'all the trouble of reviewing and do them myself.

I checked and they were unblocked from Macedonian Wikipedia in 2019, plus their claim probably has at least some truth, it's a small Balkan Wikipedia after all. It's also been 6 years and a half since their last request; it had been one year here since they were unblocked at that time, and now it's almost eight, no small amount. Hello,

Recently, I went on vacation, which has given me more time to dedicate to Wikipedia. During this period, I noticed some issues with the Dark mode theme.

Inspired by user @Synpath, who took the initiative to propose changes to the Drugbox template, I began working on fixing dark mode compatibility in other templates. Specifically, I have contributed to improving Template:Annotated image 4, Template:Enzymatic reaction, and Template:Biochem reaction subunit.

In 2019, I created a Lua module for the Portuguese Wikipedia to assist editors in finding articles without citations. This tool categorizes articles by the month and year the tag was added and allows sorting by pageviews. You can view the module and the associated template. I mention this to demonstrate my ability to work with modules if needed, although I currently do not intend to work on modules.

The primary reason for this request is to be able to contribute more actively to the Drugbox and Chembox templates. I have previously participated in discussions to update the Brazilian drug legal status parameter in them (see: Template talk:Infobox drug/Archive 19#Legal status in Brazil - Add subclasses F1, F2 and F3 and Template talk:Chembox/Archive 13#Template-protected edit request on 15 August 2023).

I am also contemplating starting a project, potentially under the umbrella of Wikipedia:WikiProject Pharmacology, to expand the "legal status" parameter to include additional countries, particularly China and India. This expansion would aim to improve greater understanding of how different countries regulate and culturally perceive various substances.

In light of that, I personally am not comfortable granting the right at this time.

@Sohom Datta I had a look and felt comfortable with their judgement. They use sandboxes and testcases and discuss changes appropriately. At least when I was more active a few years ago it was common practice on this page to leave your comments on a candidate and leave it open for other admins to have a look for non-trivial decisions. #5 for me is Green tickY, as I count 5 sandboxes. I do see Red XN for #6 with only three TPERs (plus one pending), though. Normally that would put me in a "leaning no" direction, but usually with these borderline cases the editor fails both of the "soft" metrics and it's a bit easier to lean that way.
